Raymond Garrison, 78, of Duncannon, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
Born in Hershey on October 31, 1938, he was the son of the late Russell and Sarah E. Darrow Garrison.
Raymond graduated from Lower Dauphin High School in 1961, and graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College. He served three years with the U.S. Army in Germany. Raymond started Mechanicsburg Trucking Service in the early 1970’s, later transferring it to Trans Tech Leasing, and retired at 60.
Raymond enjoyed the outdoors and became a local wine maker with the many fruits he cultivated on his three acre property in Duncannon. He was a life master bridge player. Raymond was a former member of the Adams Lodge #319, F&AM, New Bloomfield, and the Harrisburg Consistory. He also enjoyed gardening. Even though Raymond could be quite the prankster, he had a caring heart helping anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Margaret Nusbaum Sgrignoli Garrison, whom he married on December 18, 1993; two sons from a previous marriage, Keith R. Garrison and Brian J. Garrison both of Hummelstown; two granddaughters, Kelly Lynne Garrison and Emily Elizabeth Garrison; five step-children, Daniel D. Sgrignoli, and Crystal C. Hostler wife of Sherman both of Montana, Perry P. Sgrignoli of Mount Wolf, and Kory K. Sgrignoli, and Loreena S. Plouse wife of Andrew both of North Carolina; 13 step grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren; one sister, Syvilla G. Lehn of Annville; two brothers, Charles T. Garrison of Columbia, and James W> Garrison of Lewisberry; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Lee Garrison.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2017, at 12:00 noon in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery. Viewing will be held in the funeral home Monday from 11 AM until time of the service.
