Paul Bricker Jr.
Paul Richard Bricker, Jr., 67, of Etters, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in the Select Specialty Hospital of Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born in Harrisburg on May 24, 1950, he was the son of the late Paul R. Bricker, Sr. and Dorothy L. Gebhart Kraft.
Retiring as a Quality Assurance Specialist from the former New Cumberland Army Depot, Paul was the only supervisor in that department to receive 100% positive reviews. Prior to his position in quality control Paul worked in air maintenance and was a helicopter mechanic. He was a 1968 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War with the Americal Division Southern Cross. He was a member of the West Shore Sportsman’s Association, Lewisberry, and a past member of the Liberty Township Sportsman’s Association, Centre County, and the New Cumberland and Steelton Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts. A renaissance man, Paul was very artistic and found true enjoyment in fishing, hunting, boating, taking care of his yard through gardening and landscaping, woodworking, and going to camp in Centre County. He also enjoyed playing solitaire and auto maintenance.
Paul is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kim E. Sieger Bricker, whom he married on September 17, 1983; two daughters, Tiffany Marie Bricker of Tybee Island, GA, and Gabrielle Elizabeth Bricker of New Cumberland; one son, Kenneth Paul Bricker husband of Rachel L. of Carlisle; one step-daughter, Cindy Wilson spouse of Kim of Tybee Island, GA; one granddaughter, Gemma Rebecca Bricker of Tybee Island; and one grandchild on the way lovingly nicknamed Pep Bricker.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 12:00 noon in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment with military honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township. Friends are invited to the viewings in the funeral home Monday, March 19, 2018, from 6 to 8 PM, and Tuesday from 11 AM until time of the service.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to the American Lung Association, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011, or to the Vietnam Veterans Counseling Center, 1500 North Second Street, Harrisburg, PA 17102.
