Obituary for Sheryl A. Rickmers
Sheryl A. Rickmers, 60, of Hummelstown, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Hershey on September 14, 1957, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Letitia Breckenmaker Rickmers.
Sheryl was a caregiver for the Children’s Care Center, Hummelstown, and Grayson View, as well as an employee of Hershey’s Chocolate World and the Hershey Park Camping Resort. She was a 1975 graduate of Hershey High School, where she was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America. Sheryl was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Hershey. She was a member of the Girls Scout’s of America, receiving the highest award in scouting. Sheryl and her brother, Keith, were the first siblings to receive the Lutheran Religious Award at the church for scouting.
She is survived by her brother, Keith A. Rickmers of Hummelstown; and a nephew, Paul M. Rickmers of Jacksonville, NC.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2018, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. A private interment will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to the viewings in the funeral home on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 7 to 9 PM and again on Friday from 10 AM until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Youth Group of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 212 Cocoa Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033 or to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, Inc., East Shore Shelter, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
