Leroy R. Fisher, 88, of Seven Valleys, and formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019, at his home.
Born in Middletown on June 30, 1930, he was one of 12 children of the late John V. and Anna Mary Deimler Fisher.
A hardworking man, Leroy retired as a Quarry Superintendent for HJ Smith Quarry, Annville; and was formerly the Plant Supervisor for Pennsy Supply. He served with the Air National Guard from 1949-1952. Leroy was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Harrisburg. He enjoyed being in his workshop, roaming the countryside on his John Deere tractor, and spending time with his family especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Leroy is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Umbrell Fisher, whom he married on November 19, 1949; four sons, Gary L. Fisher husband of Lynn of Moneta, VA, Daniel R. Fisher husband of Pat of Mechanicsburg, Randy J. Fisher of Elizabethtown, and Thomas M. Fisher husband of Janice of Seven Valleys; two brothers, Ralph G. Condolences to the Fisher family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, "heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds." May God bring you comfort and peace.

Whenever I see an obituary for one of the Fishers from Fiddlers Elbow in "The Sun", it's as if another member of our Logan family is gone. Given you were our neighbor as well, Sissy (May I still call you that?), even more memories of childhood days come to mind. On behalf of the Logans --- only Wilma and I remain, as John died last November --- please accept our sympathy on the loss of Leroy. Now that we are considered old, talking about growing up at Fiddlers Elbow has always been a favorite and comforting pastime, and the Fisher and Umbrell families were a large part of that enjoyable experience. It is with happy childhood memories that I shall remember Leroy.
