Glenn C. Ney, 82, of Hummelstown, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018, in the M. S. Hershey Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Elizabethtown on June 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Preston and Winona Hess Ney.
Glenn retired from the Hershey Chocolate Company. He was a 1953 graduate of Elizabethtown High School. Glenn was an U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey. Glenn was a member of the Chocolate Workers Union Local 464, the Hummelstown Area Historical Society, and the former Loyal Order of the Moose, Steelton. He enjoyed volunteering at Spring Creek Nursing Home. Glenn was also an avid reader, Philadelphia Sports fan, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. With a passion for running, Glenn participated in fourteen marathons including running the Boston Marathon twice.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 56 years, M. Joyce Bush Ney, whom he married on June 10, 1961; one son, Anthony P. Ney of Harrisburg; two brothers, Robert Ney of Elizabethtown, and Jack Ney of Hillsboro, OR; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by a brother, James Ney.
Prayer service will be held Friday, January 19, 2018, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Fr. Steven J. Arena as officiant. Interment with military honors will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery. Friends are invited to the viewing in the funeral home Friday from 10 AM until time of the service.
