Richard Harold Kreider, 86, of Elizabethtown, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at his home.

Born in Elizabethtown on August 6, 1932, he was the son of the late Frank and Edith Bricker Kreider.
Richard retired after 35 years of service from the Hershey Chocolate Factory. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War era. Richard’s hobbies included horses and Westerns.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Faye Rider Kreider, on December 9, 2018; a son, Terry Lee Kreider on April 19, 2016; a grandson, Joshua Daniel Kreider on November 23, 2015; three brothers, Frank, Russel and Jim; and four sisters, Margaret, Dorothy, Catherine and Esther.
Richard is survived by two sons, Timothy Jay Kreider husband of Karen Tolbert Kreider, and Richard Todd Kreider, both of Elizabethtown; one granddaughter of whom he helped to raise, Michelle Lynn Newcomer wife of Jason of Lancaster; two great-grandchildren, Kai Newcomer and Hudson Newcomer, both of Lancaster; one brother, Clair Kreider; and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Richard will be held at the convenience of his family. Interment will be in Shenk’s Community Cemetery, Conewago Township.
