Momoe Kokubo Mondschein, 90, of Hershey, and formerly of Havertown, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2018, in Country Meadows of Hershey.

Born on May 15, 1928, in Kauai, Hawaii, she was the daughter of the late Hisahiko and Tsuru Maeda Kokubo.
Momoe retired as a Social Worker for the Head Start program for the school district of Philadelphia. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Pacific University, Oregon; and her Master’s in Education from Columbia University, New York City. In her younger years, Momoe enjoyed skiing, tennis, playing the piano, and the New York Times.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving Mondschein, on June 5, 2015.
She is survived by two sons, Mark L. Mondschein husband of Judy of Palmyra, and Brian E. Mondschein of Winston-Salem, NC; one daughter, Ilana T. Mondschein wife of Fred Berman of Philadelphia; two grandsons, Brian D. Mondschein husband of Deborah Requesens of Havertown, and Stephen Mondschein husband of Megan of Centerville, VA; two great grandchildren, Alex Mondschein and Dominic Mondschein; one sister, Fusako Kuraoka of Honolulu, HI; and one sister-in-law, Yoshie Kokubo of Waimea, Kauai, HI
