Gerard Johns, 70, of Grantville, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019, at his home.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, on February 12, 1949, the son of the late Theresa Mastroianni and Ernest Johns, Jerry was raised by his grandparents, Geatano and Emilia Mastroianni.

He was a self-employed roofer. Jerry was a graduate of New Utrecht High School, New York City. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam War era. A musician, he loved playing the drums; and enjoyed muscle cars.

A good husband and father, Jerry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Erika Newman Johns; one daughter, Mandi S. Johns of Hummelstown; one son, Blake T. Johns husband of Samantha D. of Hummelstown; and his cousin William J. Watson husband of Darlene of Shermansdale.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt, William S. and Lucille B. Watson.

Services for Jerry will be held at a later date.
